The Rhatigan & Hick Design Process

Rhatigan and Hick are a design and service led company. We design and manufacture unique kitchens and handmade furniture to suit each individual project.  You can book a showroom appointment with our design team who will discuss your project with you. Alternatively, you can send us your plans and we will do an initial design to give you a rough idea of costs.

Step 1 - Enquiry

The first step to achieving a bespoke kitchen, utility, pantry or furniture from Rhatigan & Hick is to get in touch with us via email or call us on 0402 94661 and let us see plans of the space.

Once we have your drawings, a member of our design team will get in touch to arrange for a consultation to take place, whether it be on the phone or in person. Before starting to look at the design, your designer will gather information about what you hope to achieve in the space and what key features you want to include.

Step 2 – Design Process

After a consultation your designer will put together a concept and a quotation, so you will have an idea of associated costs and see what we have designed for the space. It is not uncommon for designs to have revisions and we allow for this in the process, however once a second set of drawings have been presented, we to ask for a commitment to proceed with an order for the desired kitchen/furniture.

Step 3 – The Finer Details

At this stage of the process we require a 10% deposit which will ensure that your project is included in our manufacture schedule. A final sign-off meeting will take place to confirm sinks, taps, handles and appliances, this will usually take place in our showroom where we will have a selection of samples on display.

Once your project has been signed off and you are happy, completed drawings will be sent to our workshop for production to start. Manufacture usually takes around 10 weeks from the point a final measure can be taken. At this stage of the process changes are kept to a minimum to avoid any delays or additional costs.

Step 4 - Installation & Delivery

When it comes to the time for your kitchen or furniture to be fitted, our project manager will arrange to visit site and complete a pre-installation survey to ensure that there will be no complications when our fitters arrive on site. Installation will normally take two weeks. If you have chosen a painted finish, our painter will follow the fitters on site and complete the hand painting to leave a hard-wearing long-lasting finish.

The final stage of our process is the walkthrough which will be completed by your designer, who will go through every aspect of your kitchen/furniture to ensure your complete satisfaction.
