From a friendship spanning over 20 years and originating from an unreserved, no non-sense love for fine furniture, craftwork and design, our founders, Ed and Gary, created Rhatigan & Hick because they were tired of the lack of design quality focus in overdesigned kitchens. When they asked around, they learned lots of people were of the same opinion, so they decided to do something about it.
Armed with that knowledge, they set out to create a solution – without sacrificing the looks, the feel, and the experience that they loved so much about kitchen & furniture design in the first place.

Ed has been designing & crafting outstanding kitchens and furniture for over 20 years. Co-founder of the highly acclaimed Rhatigan & Hick, Ed’s history in the furniture world began with studying antique furniture restoration and fine furniture design. Through his partnership with Gary Hick, Rhatigan & Hick now work with some of the world's top interior designers and architects.
His inspirational approach to design strives to achieve uniqueness and perfection. Ed’s love of exploring new concepts and choosing specially selected materials helps bring each project to life.

Gary Hick
Gary has worked within the furniture industry for over 23 years. Firstly as a furniture designer and cabinet maker focusing on bespoke commissions for the domestic residential market. Co-founding Rhatigan and Hick in 2005, he brought a wealth of knowledge to the company, contributing key design elements and superior construction technique to the now distinctive Rhatigan & Hick brand. He prides himself on attention to detail, obsession with quality and love for the craft of furniture making. He is currently our Creative Director.

What’s Inside the Cabinetry?
Rhatigan & Hick’s premium kitchens are built to last. We use solid wood on our cabinet internals, offering a choice of durable lacquered finishes. Wood lined drawers running on concealed soft close runners. Our cabinet doors are 30mm thick and hung to Rhatigan & Hick’s unique hardwood frame design with traditional butt hinges. All this yields cabinetry that is both impressive and build for the task.
Every Cabinet Serves a Function
We believe that kitchen cabinets should be as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside. We incorporate a host of utility features including larder units with pullout shelves and bottle racks to combined waste and recycling bins.
